Turned

Written in response to the global food crisis, Turned is a powerful two hander that explores the devastating consequences of conflict, political corruption and cultural displacement. Through the intersecting monologues of Sebastian, an Englishman and Halima, a Nigerian woman, the play presents two lives shaped by war, loss and their connection to Isah, a Nigerian man whose life links their seemingly separate worlds. Performed across a divided stage, Sebastian and Halima recount their experiences from contrasting perspectives as their story unfolds, blending poetic dialogue and offering a poignant reflection on the devastating reach of conflict and the shared humanity that promotes suffering.
