Synopsis

A monologue which weaves multiple narratives, shifting in time and place, reliving, over centuries, the experience of enslaved peoples through the journey of Mout; whipped, chained, abused and subsequently systemically excluded in Western democracies. Mout voices the struggle to keep faith with humanity and spirituality and recognises the importance of keeping one’s own language and voice to survive and bear witness.
