Synopsis

The Creator, his glory days as a once feted calypso singer long gone, lives with his protégée Bird in a driftwood cabin on the beach. In between petty theft and busking a meagre living from tourists, they work on their entry for the annual calypso competition; a song concerning the corruption and infidelity of a local politician. Success will propel the Creator back to the top and will send Bird triumphantly on his way with Marion, the American tourist he’s fallen for but an incident at the local nightclub risks their one source of income and subsequently the Creator kills both his and Bird’s dreams.
