Roger Robinson

Roger Robinson was born in Trinidad, arriving in the UK in the late 1980s. Robinson has performed worldwide, including one-man shows The Shadow Boxer, and is an experienced workshop leader and lecturer on poetry and theatre. He has also toured with the British Council to countries such as Vietnam, Argentina and Bulgaria. Robinson has been associated with various theatres and literary organisations, such as Stratford Theatre Royal East, for which he is an associate artist. He is also the writing coach for Spoke Lab, a poetry theatre initiative. In 2009 he won The People’s Book Prize with his autobiographical poetry collection Suckle.
