Mufaro Makubika

Biography

Mufaro Makubika is a playwright living and working in St Ann’s, Nottingham. His first play, Shebeen, opened at the Nottingham Playhouse in 2018 and then transferred to the Theatre Royal Stratford East. It won the Alfred Fagon Award for Best New Play in 2017. His other works include: Malindadzimu (Hampstead Theatre), an adaptation of NoViolet Bulawayo’s We Need New Names (New Perspectives, Brixton House) and This Is Not a Coup (Paines Plough).
