Biography
Born in Jamaica Clifton Jones came to Britain in 1958 to study at the Italian Conti Stage School. While still a student he appeared in the film Billy Budd (1962). Jones subsequently appeared in a number of stage plays and TV productions, and his first plays La Mere/ The S Bend was staged as a double-bill at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East by the New Negro Company in 1960.
