Biography

Born in 1956, Andrea Levy was a celebrated and award-winning writer of many novels and books, including: The Long Song, Small Island, Fruit of the Lemon, Never Far from Nowhere, Every Light in the House Burnin’ and Six Stories and an Essay.

In 2019, her novel, Small Island, was adapted for the Stage by Helen Edmundson for the National Theatre before being revived again at the National in 2022. A stage version of her novel, The Long Song, was adapted for the stage by Suhayla El-Busha and premiered at Chichester Festival Theatre in 2021.
