Biography
Bode Sowande is a Nigerian playwright, director and novelist. He was a founding member of the Ori Olukun Acting Company. Sowande's first succesful work was the trilogy
comprising The Night Before, Farewell to Babylon and Flamingoes (1972-82). These plays deal with the totalitarian state and with problems of loyalty and leadership among a radical group.
