Biography
Jamaican born Patricia Cumper is an award winning playwright, author and director. Cumper moved to Britain in the 1970s after winning a scholarship to study Archaeology and Anthropology at Girton College, Cambridge University. After graduating Cumper returned to Jamaica and established her reputation as one of Jamaica's leading contemporary playwrights. Cumper returned to Britain in 1993 and in 2006 she became the Artistic Director of Talawa Theatre Company, having previously worked with them for six or seven years as a commissioned writer, and a script reader.
